Mission accomplished! Salamat,PARI. Good luck to all the nominees! See you sa awards night. :)

“It’s A Beautiful Day” aka Good Riddance!

What can I say.

I absolutely enjoy Michael Bublé songs… and his latest single is no exception.

Entitled, “It’s A Beautiful Day”, Bublé joyfully sings a song of good riddance and relief. It’s cute, humorous and fun.

I’m sure you’ll love the song as well. That’s why I’m sharing the music videos below for you guys to enjoy.

I’m sharing 2 versions of the music video for you – the official music video and the official lyric video.

Accutone Audio

I love music. Especially music you can bring along. That’s why my iPhone 5 is loaded with all sorts of tracks.

I make sure to convert my music tracks to compressed formats with sampling rates and resolutions that, as much as possible, preserves its original lossless (raw) quality.

It’s the audiophile in me, I guess. Being a sound engineer, it’s difficult to ignore artifacts that are unavoidably brought about by converting raw music formats into lossy ones.

But, keep in mind… No matter how crystal clear your music sounds, it is ONLY JUST AS GOOD as what your output device can deliver.

Take headphones/earphones, for example. It makes no sense stuffing your portable music player with huge, barely uncompressed files, if your earpiece cannot faithfully reproduce the music. It’s like watching a Blu-Ray movie on a regular CRT monitor – it doesn’t make any sense.

I cannot stress it enough… invest in good quality headphones and earphones. Why? Because it matters.

Good earphones don’t have to be pricey. In fact, there are some really amazing sounding earpieces in the market that will barely even make a dent on your budget.

And forget about those imitation “Beats” headphones being sold in bangketa markets for merely a fifth of the original’s real value. Because they’re imitations, you can be sure that quality, workmanship and materials have been compromised.

If you’re in the market for a pair of great-sounding yet affordable earphones, Accutone products are a good place to start.

Accutone EarphonesI currently have 2 Accutone earphones which I usually bring along during events and activities. Which model I bring depends on the mood I’m in during that day and the activity I am doing.

What An MB Can Be

Exactly what can you do or how much can you accomplish using 1MB of data transfer via mobile surfing?

If you’ve already read the previous post I made a few months back, the infographics and explanation on that article pretty much gives you an idea on how to make the most of your mobile data allotment.

If infographics and reading text isn’t exactly your cup of tea, we can go the “Mary Poppins-ish” route and learn a little bit more about it through a song!  Thanks to Globe and Johnoy Danao’s very catchy tune, “What An MB Can Be”, knowing how much data you consume and learning how to make the most of each byte becomes a pleasant and enjoyable learning experience.

Watch below.

Cool, right?

Mashups…

I love mashups.  Particularly the ones I stumble across on YouTube.

Ever heard of Sam Tsui?  He’s quite the hit on YouTube… he puts out some of the coolest mashups online and most of his covers are awesomely arranged and produced by his good friend (and in my opinion, a musical genius), Kurt Hugo Schneider.  Together they also do solo covers which, more often than not sound way better than the originals.

I follow (and subscribe) to a good number of independent artists on YouTube – really artistic and far more talented than a lot of mainstream artists we usually listen to.

Since we are in the topic of mashups… check out Sam Tsui’s latest collaboration with Kurt Hugo Schneider – “Summer Pop Medley 2012″.  Just awesome.

Amazing spin they did on a handful of current hits, right?  Check out Sam and Kurt’s YouTube channels here and here respectively.

So, what did you think of the video?

Everything

I was just going through a bunch of videos on YouTube earlier and stumbled upon a not so old song by Michael Buble entitled, “Everything”. And though it actually ain’t that new to me, it sounded quite fresh again after all these years.

It’s a wonderful song, really. Not to mention, Buble has a superb voice – the Sinatra of our generation, in my opinion.

Unlike most “disposable” tunes that are shoved down our throats ears on a daily basis over the radio nowadays (not ALL… but MOST), Michael Buble puts out instant classics.  The kind of songs our children should be listening to more often.

Don’t believe me? Check out this music video.

1st Music Expo & 23rd Awit Awards

Yes.  The title of this entry pretty much says everything!

It’s the 1st Music Expo & 23rd Awit Awards Night on Sept 28-30, 2010 at the Centerstage of the Mall of Asia.

1st Music Expo & 23rd Awit Awards, Sept. 28 to 30, 2010

Unlike previous years, this Awit Awards Night will be preceded by 2 days of talks/seminars… hence the 1st Music Expo.  If you’re a songwriter, musician, record producer, or just a plain and simple music lover, head over to the Mall of Asia and listen to notable personalities and guest speakers who will share valuable thoughts and ideas covering vast topics and aspects of our music industry.

After that, cap it all off with a celebration of Philippine music as we recognize this year’s musical achievements via the 23rd Awit Awards.

I have been part of Awit Awards’ “Judging Committee” for the past 10 years… and listening to this year’s batch of entries, I have to say that our industry is just getting better and better technically and artistically!

So, come and celebrate with us!

This is truly an event you won’t ever want to miss!

See you there!
